Open Call: Inquiries into the accidental
Deadline February 20

In connection with Oddvar I.N. Daren’s solo exhibition Local Land (10.02 – 06.04), Kunsthall Trondheim invites to Open Call: Inquiries into the accidental.

Poetic, gentle and analytic interventions in nature and landscape – often characterized by humour and humbleness – are a central part of Oddvar I.N. Daren’s artistic practice, and as well as low cost processes as method and ideal. As a young student Oddvar I.N. Daren formed the group ‘Nye alle fem’ [New all five], together with Terje Munthe, Lars Paalgard and Audun Sørsdal. They were interested in the technological innovations of their time, as for example video, and connections to land art, performativity and installation art could be found in their approach. «Low tech» is a good description for Daren’s artistic practice. Many of his works deals with making visible what already exists in the landscape, and the histories which appears through physical traces.

In connection to Oddvar I.N. Daren’s exhibition, we wanted to raise the question how similar approaches and practices  could look today.
