Trondheim Pride at Kunsthall Trondheim
–––
Welcome to the panel discussion "Building Alliances Among Minorities," where the focus will be on the intersections of identity categories and how they affect people differently as minorities.
What kind of experiences does one have as a queer person with other marginal intersections, such as religious background, physical or psychological disabilities or an indigenous background? How can we encourage solidarity and coalition among minority groups despite all the differences?
The panel consists of:
Begard Reza general secretary for the queer Muslim organization Salam.
Amir Hashami disability activist from Norges Handikapforbunds Ungdom NHFU (the youth group for the Norwegian Associaton of Disabled)
- Maria Puenchir is a disability activist, artist, and student with an indigenous background.
- Elisabeth Stubberud is a postdoctorate at NTNU and one of the founding members of Garmeres, a transnational organization for queer Sapmi people.
The panel will be facilitated by Fatuma Abdi. She is a member of the Pride House committee and has been active in organizing Trondheim Pride this year. Fatuma is black and blind and active in the youth group in Norwegian Associaton of Disabled for the Trøndelag region.
