Welcome to the last enactment of Monument to Work!
Alexandra Piricis Monument to Work is one of the works in the opening exhibition this is a political (painting). Unlike the other works in the exhibition Monument to Work will be presented on selected days during the exhibition period, which is October 20, 2016 – February 26, 2017.
The changed condition of work within our post industrial society forms the ground for Alexandra Pirici’s Monument to Work. The work builds on interviews and research on movements performed by industrial workers through their working life. These movements, choreographed by the artist, will be enacted by a group of people, forming a living monument, in the exhibition space. The dancers are Magnhild Fossum, Loan TP Hoang, Rebecka Lange, Erikk McKenzie, Luis Della Mea, Emilie Thun and Tony Tran. The work is produced in collaboration with DansiT – Regional Dance Agency for Professional Dancers and Choreographers in Sør-Trøndelag, Norway.
