Welcome to performance with Timimie Märak at Kunsthall Trondheim, in connection with TRÅANTE 2017.

8 – 9pm Performance with Timimie Märak
9pm – 12am Party with DJ Jackie

Poet, indigenous feminist, queer activist under constant development. Standing in the front line among siblings for Europe’s indigenous people. Through talks and lectures Timimie explains in details how the normative power neglects the people. With poetry and spoken word to express her own and others experience, hoping to strengthen and create community in the fight. No other than the body’s owner can interpret the body. The importance of creating secure rooms and safety in which a person should be able to develop its identity without being questioned.

The age limit is 18 years of age. Welcome!

Timimie Märak is from Jokkmokk, and is very engaged in environmental issues, especially against the damage caused by mining on nature. Timimie has won many poetry slam competitions, and has been active in Giron Sámi Teáhter, Kiruna. In 2015 SVT made a documentary series about Timimie, and her sister Maxida, called Sápmi Sisters.

DJ Jackie, Stockholm. Since early age the focus has been mostly on RnB, Rap and Disco. Has with time built a bridge to more electronic genre as UKG and House. Today Jackie doesn’t have a niche focus, but is pulling a red thread through many styles. Focus on the location, and who is present. The most important is to be present in the party. Besides being a solo DJ Jackie has been involved in starting up clubs. Today he’s running the UK-niche Knight Life, and Cundown, which is a platform with focus on Ballrom/vouging scene in Sweden.

TRÅANTE 2017 is a celebration marking the 100 years of fighting for democracy, justice and diversity for the Sami people.
