Save the dates 25–28 August for Bridges – a brand new cultural festival in Trondheim for diversity in the arts!
Bridges invite you to join workshops, seminars, fun family activities, and experience concerts, performances, and poetry slams through a varied festival program. Consisting of transcultural art Bridges encourages dialogue between artists and audiences from different backgrounds. The festival is free and open to everyone!

Wednesday 25 August
2 pm – 3.30 pm Workshop: What is Arts Council Norway and how to write an application, with artist Per Kristian Nygaard (Norwegian). Tickets
6 pm – 8 pm Opening of the festival with comedian Yousef Hadaoui known from Svart Humor, NRK. Araba and Majaz are playing. Tickets
Thursday 26 August
2 pm – 3.30 pm Workshop: Financial support systems for artists, with program curator at Kunsthall Trondheim Carl Martin Faurby (Norwegian). Tickets
6 pm – 8 pm Poetry without borders, with Litteraturhuset in Trondheim. Tickets
Friday 27 August

2 pm – 4 pm Oi! invites you to join in an evening of stories about the complexity of belonging, "borderline thinking": What does it mean to belong to more than one culture – and also somehow to neither? Tickets

During the festival, we offer a four-day workshop for artists from Norway and with immigration background, especially refugees, to make art projects aimed at children. The workshop takes place in collaboration with Kulturtanken, DKS Trondheim, DKS Trøndelag, Friby Trondheim/ICORN. In these workshop sessions, you can develop art activities for children with a focus on diversity. Apply now to participate and test out your ideas! Participating artists will receive a fee. Applicants living anywhere in Norway are welcome to apply, travel costs will be covered.
The program is conceived by Carl Martin Faurby (program curator) and Karim Tahir (community builder) with Hilde Handegard (consultant), Kunsthall Trondheim.
