The Falstad Centre invited two artists to produce a room for an upcoming exhibition. The room, with its working title “Room of Reflection”, focuses on questions regarding migration and the process of seeking asylum.
In connection to this we would like to discuss the potential which can be found in artistic collaborations, and the different ways research institutions, schools and businesses can engage and employ artistic competence in their activities.
This event is in connection with the exhibition What Fades in The Sun with the Norwegian artist Lotte Konow Lund (b. 1967). Many of Konow Lund’s projects are the result of socially and politically engaging with society as well as with power structures, as for example is the series Images from the inside (2007–), which is based on Konow Lund’s volunteer work, teaching drawing, at the Breitvedt women’s prison – a long term collaboration with the inmates.
The exhibition What Fades in the Sun is on view at Kunsthall Trondheim until September 2, 2018.
