Herbs for Queer Bodies

Design: NODE Berlin Oslo

Saturday 11 March at 5 pm we invite anyone with lived queer experience is warmly welcome to join a plant workshop.

Elin Már Øyen Vister and Skeiv Scene are warmly welcoming you to Herbs for Queer Bodies at Kunsthall Trondheim, an event that invites Trondheim’s Queer community to a collective conversation and sharing of experiences, thought and feelings related to bodies and health, chemicals related to neurodiversity and hormonal treatment which potential can be found in plant medicine and closeness to nature as a therapy form.

How can we use plants as a supplement to traditional treatment? Is it even possible? Does it work?

We will begin in the space with the sound installation Plantesanger / Sjædtoej [Plant Songs], where Elin Már will present us an introduction to the work, and we will spend time listen. We wish to use this afternoon to create a space for care for queer bodies, which has physical and psychological well-being and self-love, collective care and nursing is in focus. We will give a small introduction to how to make your own herbal oil tincture/spirit extracts, perhaps a small face mask too, we'll see what we can do. Afterward, in Skeiv-Scene-style, we will open the room for sharing of all kinds. A poem, a history, plant recipes, a song or a little dance? This time the is scene shaped like a circle and acoustic.

Bring a small cloth or towel.
You have the possibility to leave the Kunsthall, when you want. The event is wheel-chair accessible.
Please feel free to contact us, if you are insecure towards allergies or such.
