Korakrit Arunanondchai has designed a wearable artwork in the form of a face mask exclusively on the occasion of his exhibition Songs for dying at Kunsthall Trondheim. The washable mask consists of 3 layers plus insertable and exchangeable filters and meets the safety standards for covid-19 face covers. The title of this wearable artwork, If we burn, you burn with us, refers to the ongoing student demonstrations in Thailand and the protesters’ use of symbols from popular culture such as the movie trilogy The Hunger Games. The pattern features elements that are characteristic for Arunanondchai’s work, including flames, denim and a yellow bird.
