Jenna Sutela collaborated with fashion designer Nhu Duong to create this editioned wearable, a Bacterial-Martian bikini. The fabric features a colony of Bacillus subtilis nattō bacteria that inhabit our gut and, according to recent spaceflight experimentation, can survive on Mars. Here, the bacteria are seen through the eyes of an intelligent machine trained to predict their future movements as part of Sutela's nimiia cétiï project (kudos to collaborator Memo Akten). The bikini invites wearers to tune into an 'oceanic feeling'.
