Kunsthall Trondheim is moving its widely anticipated summer exhibition by celebrated Trondheim-born artist Sverre Bjertnæs to summer 2021. While we are working towards the opening of the exhibition in June 2021, Sverre Bjertnæs has created a special edition in anticipation of his show. The edition of 60 prints can now be purchased at Kunsthall Trondheim.

Sverre Bjertnæs is one of Trøndelag’s and Norway’s most renowned artists. Educated at the Art Academy in Oslo and the Dutch Art Institute in Amsterdam, Bjertnæs is known for his poetic exploration of existential themes, often with an autobiographic focus. His first solo exhibition was in Bjarne Melgaard’s gallery Norsk Anarkistisk Fraksjon (NAF) in 2000. Since then, Bjertnæs and Melgaard have worked together on several collaborative exhibitions, often involving elaborate room-filling installations. Among Bjertnæs’s most recent solo exhibitions are If you really loved me you would be able to admit that you’re ashamed of me at White Columns in New York (2013), Nervous Fluids at Stenersenmuseet in Oslo (2014), Den borgelige byrde in collaboration with Melgaard at Galleri Brandstrup (2018), Oslo and Ikke alt som har vært, skal være med videre at Haugar Vestfold Kunstmuseum (2019). Bjertnæs was born and raised in Trondheim, and lives and works in Oslo.
