We have the pleasure to welcome you to the ART + FEMINISM Edit-a-thon Overlooked Practices at Kunsthall Trondheim on Saturday 6 May from 11 am.
Art+Feminism Edit-a-thon Overlooked Practices is a two-part event, which aims to improve and write Wikipedia articles in order to amplify overlooked art practices. Join in!
The first part of the programme is a panel discussion at Kunsthall Trondheim with artist Veslemøy Lilleengen and art historian and director of the National Museum of Decorative Arts and Design Ingrid Lunnan Nødseth. Taking their artistic, art historical, and museums practices as a departure point, the discussion will revolve around feminism in art, womxn and non-binary artists who have material-based practices. It will touch upon how and to which degree these artists are represented in museum collections, and portrayed in art history. The moderator for the panel discussion is Carl Martin Rosenkilde Faurby, programme curator at Kunsthall Trondheim.
The second part of the programme is a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon that aims to write and improve Wikipedia articles about craft artists, material-based artists, and duojárat. You will get an introduction course by Wikimedia Norway on how to contribute to Wikipedia. It will primary be held in Norwegian.
Our Edit-a-thon is focused on amplifying the stories of under-represented artists, particularly female, crip, Sámi, womxn, BIPOC and LGBTQIA artists. The event is FREE, and we kindly ask you to register here.
You are welcome to attend either the panel discussion or the edit-a-thon if you do not wish or cannot attend both.
