In conjunction with the ongoing group exhibition Works on Books, Kunsthall Trondheim and Grafill Trøndelag presents lectures with two of the participating artists: Kim Hiorthøy and Fraser Muggeridge.
Aslak Gurholt Rønsen and Martin Asbjørnsen, the curators of Works on Books, will be present.
Kim Hiorthøy has worked as a graphic designer and illustrator since the mid-90s. He is especially known for his collaboration with the Norwegian author Erlend Loe and his record covers for Motorpsycho. Since 1998 Hiorthøy has been designer for the record label Rune Grammofon and he’s also been working with the label Smalltown Supersound. In addition to his work with design and illustration, Hiorthøy also has an practice as an artist and has also worked as film photographer and musician. Last year he made his debut as a film director with the movie The Rules for Everything.
The designer Fraser Muggeridge is director of Fraser Muggeridge studio, a graphic design company based in Clerkenwell, London. Throughout a wide range of printed formats, from artists’ books to exhibition catalogues, the studio prioritises artists’ and writers’ content over the imposition of a signature style. Muggeridge founded and is a tutor at Typography Summer School, a week-long programme of typographic study in London for recent graduates and professionals. He is a visiting lecturer at the Department of Typography & Graphic Communication at the University of Reading and at Camberwell College of Art in London.
The event is in collaboration with Grafill Trøndelag, and will be held in English.
