Join the artists behind the collective Geocinema, Asia Bazdyrieva and Solveig Suess, for this Instagram live stream and Q&A to hear more about their recent exhibition Making of Earths at Kunsthall Trondheim! In the conversation, Geocinema will consider the planetary-scale network of cell phones, surveillance cameras, satellites and geosensors as a vastly distributed cinematic apparatus.
The session will unpack how these technologies contribute to a new visual culture and create a form of distributed, machine-aided intelligence. Geocinema trace how this intelligence attempts to predict the future, and speculate on alternatives to surveillance and oppression by proposing modes of seeing otherwise.
